Many countries share the programs, implemented by the Resource Officers’ Office of Georgia during the last two years. Last year, Georgia became the member of National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO).
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, Executive Director of National Association (NASRO), Mr. Canady, The Lithuanian Minister of Education, Gintaras Steponavicius, Deputy Ministers of Education of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Ekaterine Zguladze and the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Davit Sakvarelidze participated in the conference.
The ceremony was officially opened with the national Hymns of Georgia and the United States. In the scope of the event, the Minister of Education Dimitri Shashkini discussed the importance of the implemented reforms in the education system and particularly, the school safety concept. The Minister summed up the work of Georgia’s Recourse Officers’ Office and noted that the violence at schools decreased with 94% just like the vandalism with 98%.
The Head of the Police Academy, Khatia Dekanoidze and the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Davit Sakvarelidze also held the presentations at the conference. They discussed the joint projects, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice and Ministry Internal Affairs of Georgia about the juvenile crime prevention at schools. The Head of Resource Officers’ Office of Georgia, Zviad Khidesheli presented the activities carried out by the Resource Officers.
