Throughout Georgia, Unified Entry Exams will start on June 28 and Teachers Certification Exams will begin on July 2. Students who want to improve their state grant will be able to take exam on July 6. Graduate Records Exams will be held on July 12-13. Today, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and Director of National Examination Center Khatia Dekanoidze held the briefing for the press in this regard.
As Minister stated, all examination centers in Georgia are technically ready to administer examination process smoothly.
On June 28, 17 examination centers will be opened in 12 cities across Georgia. The centers have been equipped with video surveillance facilities and fully furnished. 1300 curators and observers will work monitor the examination process. This year, Unified Entry exams will be carried out in this format for the last time. From 2013, entry exams will be organized according to 8+1 model.
35000 entrants are taking Unified Entry Exams, while 5000 students are taking exams in order to improve their state grants. 40000 teachers are taking Certification Exams. 7500 applicants are registered for Graduate Records Exams.
This year, for the first time, entrants have passed registration online on the web-pages
www.naec.ge and
www.online.naec.ge Second enrollment procedure has been abolished and entrants have a chance to choose 20 desired faculties instead of 7, as it was last year. The final results of the Exams will be announced by the end of August. Therefore, examination process will be less stressful for entrants and their parents. Higher Education Institutions have defined profile subject as the subject for the 4th - elective exam. Minimal competency barrier has increased with 10% for medical and law faculties. Accordingly, entrants of these faculties will have to cross 35% barrier in 3 compulsory subjects and 30% barrier in profile subject.
