Autumn registration in vocational education has begun throughout Georgia. Volunteers willing to acquire vocational education will be granted vouchers in the amount of 1000 GEL and will have the opportunity to study at preferred educational institutions. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irina Kurdadze held a briefing on this issue.
The Autumn registration for potential students of vocational educational institutions will last until September 10th, 2012. In addition to Tbilisi, registration is also being held in Kutaisi and Kobuleti. There are informational centers where interested individuals can request any additional information they may need.
The registrations will be held at 17 State Educational Institutions and vouchers will be granted to a total of 300 applicants using the 7 million GEL that the government has allocated for this purpose. This year, the registration process for students and the issuing of vouchers will be held in three stages: Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
Support and development of professional education is one of the priorities for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Professional educational institutions have been reconstructed and fully equipped in accordance to modern standards. In addition, new programs have been launched including the professional development of teachers’ standards.
The entrants who have passed the minimal level in general skills have an opportunity to make statements regarding educational institutions that will be published on the web pages of the National Examination Center. Each institution of vocational education has experienced decline. Enrolment is based on scores and the management of each institution makes the final decision.
