Students selected as a result of an open contest were provided with financial support of the Ministry only for Master educational programs before. For the first time this year, open contest was announced for bachelor and PhD programs. It is worth mentioning that citizens of Georgia are pursuing their studies in the universities included in the first 200 best universities of the world and also in first hundred colleges of world college rankings.

For the first time this year, the Ministry finances art educational programs that do not lead to an academic degree.  Special Committee was set up at the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. The Committee reviews each matter and after the candidate is recognized eligible for funding, the Ministry of Culture addresses the Ministry of Education and Science with the written request to discuss the possibility of financing the candidate. State grants were allocated for 4 students this year.  

In 2013, 375 applications were submitted to the Ministry of Education, 77 students received grants (29 BA students, 45 MA students and 3 PhD students).

Social Sciences - 47%

Law  - 17%

Business Administration - 13%

Art  -13%

Exact and Applied Sciences - 10%
