August 26-31, 2013, GIZ is conducting training with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Teachers Professional Development Center and Vocational College “Spektri”. The topic of the training is vocational pedagogy and didactics.
Teachers of building and construction vocations from Tbilisi as well as other regions are participating in the training. There are 27 participants in total.
The following topics are being discussed in the course of training – design of teaching situations, improvement of teenagers and adults’ teaching process, cycle – teaching with activities, KOLB experimenting teaching types, teaching models, use of practical tasks and their role in lessons and tests, teaching culture, adaptation of specific building and construction vocations and DACUM method, specific examples and teaching model in accordance with construction market conditions.
The teachers are being introduced with recommendations regarding the following:
•Methodic arrangement of a lesson;
• Quality improvement of a lesson;
• Communication methods between a pupil and a teacher;
• Feedback between a teacher and a student;
• How and what to teach coming out from the demands of a dynamic market etc.
Each teacher is to make a presentation on methodic lesson plan prepared in advance. A German expert will evaluate the presentations and give relevant recommendations.
Tamar Kitiashvili, Head of Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science met the training participants today. Tamar Kitiashvili talked about important novelties planned in the field of vocational education.
