Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze held a meeting with informational-communication technologies (ICT) teachers of Mtskheta
Municipality.
Tamar Sanikidze introduced the novelties carried out by the Ministry with the
aim of using IT technologies in teaching/learning process. The Minister
informed ICT teachers about the Blog Competition and noted that, this is
the first precedent.
The
goal of the competition – “Digital and Media Literacy in School” is to ensure
education quality and professional development of ICT teachers with the help of
innovative teaching/learning methods and technologies.
One
of the main priorities of the Ministry is to equip and provide schools with
electronic communication technologies, infrastructure and school networking.
With
the effort of the Ministry, the Internet is available in all schools. Those
schools in which the Internet is available in low speed, the Ministry shall
provide high speed equipment. EMIS staff has installed high speed equipment in
Dzegvi School on the same day.
Internet
availability in Schools shall encourage:
- Integration of schools in the
international system, rapid spread of changes and innovations, information
availability.
- Integration of schools’
electronic document flow.
- Quick and continuous feedback
among different levels of education system.
- Use of information and
communication technologies in leaching/learning process.
- Motivation among pupils,
developing searching, processing, assessment and cooperation skills.
- Availability of modern
methodical and teaching electronic resources.
- E-labs for teachers and pupils
- Experience sharing and
communication among schools inside Georgia and abroad.
