The psychological service center offers free qualified psycho-social support service to 6 to 18-year-old children with behavioural and emotional disorders.
The psychological center represents a multidisciplinary group staffed by highly qualified psychologists, social workers and child psychiatrists selected through competition.
Behavioural or emotional disorders can be provoked by both internal and external factors. Psycho-social service includes working on different aspects: psychic, behavioural and emotional problem identification by a psychologist and a psychiatrist, psychotherapy, and at the same time identification and dealing with external factors by a social worker. The multidisciplinary group of the center works with children, their parents and, if necessary, with their teachers and school administration.
The referral of pupils to psychological centers is carried out by the school administration, a resource officer, and a teacher with the consent of the parent on the basis of a filled-in referral form. The referral to the center can also be carried out voluntarily.
The psychological service centers are planned to be opened in Rustavi and Zugdidi in the future.
