Competition - WorldSkills Georgia winner students of professional colleges, will participate in Brazil, in the International Vocational Skills Competition in August. Before leaving for Sao Paulo, the last encouragement meeting was held with the Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze. She talked about the improvement of the quality of vocational education and the importance of the convergence of international standards and she wished to the team success in a High-level international competition. World Skills Georgia is a scale project, under which the professional skills competitions are held every year, which serves to settle the world-class standards in the professions and to identify successful young people. The project started in 2012 and it the National Education Development Center of the Ministry by Cooperation with the German International Society (GIZ) with technical support and active involvement of the private sector.

World Skills Georgia was held in Tbilisi in December 2014 as a second national competition in six professions. Welding, web-design, kitchen work, restaurant service, floristic and hear cutting. During these competitions, six young winner (each profession, the first place winners in three categories in) takes part in 43rd international competition World Skills, which on August 11-16, 2015, will be held San Paulo in Brazil. In the frame of World Skills for the first time the government will hold a meeting attended by the officials from 64 countries. The meeting aims to discuss the issues and to develop vocational education cooperation agreement. It is scheduled meeting with representatives of the international businesses.  Representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, together with United Nations Development programme they are actively involved in the process of developing Vocational Education and. World Skills’ 42th international competition, which was held in July 2013 in Leipzig Georgian participant was among the top ten contestants and was awarded a medal - MEDALION OF EXCELLENCE. He was also awarded a medal - BEST OF NATION.
