2015-2016 Academic year has been started at Kokhumi State University. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze congratulated the beginning of a new academic year to the students.

Sokhumi state university offers 27 accredited Bachelor’s, 13 Master’s and 11 Ph.D. programs. In addition, 60 credits worth program Georgian Language Training and Teacher training programs and 9 Authorized Master's programs as well.

In 2014-2015-s through the financial aid of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, façade of the building was rehabilitated, revamped educational buildings, laboratories, basement, library and assessment center and library book fund was filled.
