Another rectors’ council session was held, which opened the deputy minister of Education and Science of Georgia Giorgi Sharvashidze. The participant members of the Rectors Council session were rectors from different private and state universities.

Several important issues were discussed at the session, including the innovations of Microsoft in education; plagiarism in Georgian academic area: prevention and fight against plagiarism; and many other current issues.

The competence of Rectors Council is to provide consultations to the ministry of education and science in terms of development of higher education and science and preparing recommendations concerning legislative acts and the promotion the development of quality of education and perfection of mechanisms.

The council of rectors sessions are held several times a year and discuss every issues concerning the development of education. Opinions are summarized and joint decisions are made. The council will have sessions in the same format and discuss important issues connected to the development of the quality of education.
