Ongoing projects that are implemented with the assistance of USA Government will continue in future and cooperation will get in a new phase. This and other issues were discussed on the meeting that was attended by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and United States Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly. The meeting was also attended by the director of Millennium Challenge Corporation representative Ms. Kateri Klement .
On the meeting they assessed all ongoing joint projects. They especially underlined the second compact of US Millennium Challenge Corporation, which dedicated to the increasing economic growth and overcoming of poverty through the implementation of educational programs.
In the high education, 30 $ million is directed to the establishment of Georgian- American Universities, and creation of higher education programs in sciences , technology and engineering. Under this program, the cooperation memorandum was signed by the Government of Georgia and US San Diego State University and above mentioned University already received the first flow of students in bachelor programs.
