The Ministry of Education and Science – Ms. Tamar Sanikidze got acquinted and inspected the renovation process for the Okami Public School, which is funded and supported by the Millenium Challenge Compact.
In order to improve the learning environment, in 2015, the MCC started the rehabilitation process of the public schools including Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida Kartli, and Samtskhe-Javakheti, which sums up to more than 30 public schools. In the renovated public school of Okami, almost 600 students will learn and work in the modern environment. As of this point, the school has 400 students, but after the renovation process, the school administration believes that the number of students will increase dramatically.
Millennium Challenge Compact within the next four years plans to renovate 100 public school in various regions. Public school rehabilitation project totals a budget of 54 million US dollars. As a result, more than 41 thousand beneficiaries will improve the learning environment and gain access to learning and quality education.
