From March 28 up to
April 10, 2016, the registration for the vocational programs is ongoing at the
multi-profile public college “Spektri”. At this stage, business administration,
engineering, and food safety courses hold the biggest demand. There are 260
applicants already registered for the program, including people with special
educational needs. Today, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Ms.
Tamar Sanikidze was introduced to the registration process.
College “Spektri” offers the courses for the following subjects: construction,
energy and electrical engineering, transportation, environment engineering and
safety, business administration and fine arts. The courses are government
funded, and it absolutely free of charge for the vocational students.
Within the interest of employment/internships for the vocational graduates,
College “Spektri” has various strategically important partners such as;
international and local non-governmental organizations, the representatives of
private sector, formal and informal employer unions.
Furthemore,
from 2012, there was a 10% growth in the involvment of social partners in the
internal college activities, as reflected in the annual rate of employment
growth, in particular, the dynamics of employment in the years 2008-2012 was
35-50%, which was increased by 65-80% in the period of 2013-2016.
At this point, the college runs a metal-plumber modular program, and it is
expected that by 2016 for the Autumn reception, nine more modular programs will
be introduced:

- Low-voltage
electrician
- Wooden art
processing Specialist
- Gypsum cardboard contractor
- Bricklayer
- Office Manager
- Accounting technician
- Web-interface developer
- Computer network Administrator
Since
2015, the college endures a process of refurbishment and renovation at the main
building and its workshops. The first stage of renovation has been completed at
the dormitory, which entails general restoration and a specially adapted ramp.
The renovation process continues.
