Owing to the initiative of the president of – “Laboratory for Democracy" organization, in conjunction with the President's Reserve Fund, a competition for all the high school students in Georgia is announced. The competition is called "Your Voice, Our Future". The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is the official partner of the project. The competition will be held in three stages. In addition, only a team of three senior students (students of 9,10,11,12 grade) led by a teacher is eligible to participate in the contest.
The winnner accompanied by the teacher will travel to Rome (Italy), to get acquinted with the electorial systems and its origins in the oldest Republic of Rome. The second-placed team will travel to Talinn (Estonia) to get acquainted with the electronic voting system, whereas the third place winner will receive laptops.
The competition consists of three stages. In the first stage, the team is preparing a video regarding the electorial actitivites. Video should explain why each vote is important in the elections and the general role of the elections in the country's democratic development. The video should not exceed 2 minutes, and it can be of any format. The deadline for the video submission is September, 2016 . The video should be sent to the following address: demlabinfo@gmail.com
It is strictly forbidden at all stages of the contest to make any kind of political agitation, propaganda, and/ or advertising. It is also forbidden to use any symbols, visuals, materials (brochures, flyers, posters) of any political party. The team who breaks the rules will automatically be disqualified.
