For the first time in Tbilisi, Georgia a Festival of Science and Innovation 2016 is being held. Organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Festival began on September 17, and will last till September 25, whilst organizing various activities and events each day. The festival is full of events such as; exhibitions, public lectures, conferences, training sessions, workshops, open days, the publications for the latest scientific projects and projects and many more.
The festival aims on one hand, to boost the country’s scientific and innovative potential, whilst increasing the international cooperation, and on the other hand to promote the field of science and research inside the country. Moreover, the event wants to encourage young people to get more engaged in the field of science and implement innovative approaches to science and research. The festival will introduce local and international research achievements to the general pubic in addition with converging education, science and culture.
There are a number of public and private universities, and research centers participating in the event, as well as the National Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Agriculture, the National Museum, Microsoft Georgia, San Diego State University, the Millennium Challenge Account Georgia, Center for Contemporary Arts Tbilisi and various private companies and foreign representatives.
The logo is created by Bacha Khoperia (Dr. Love) – A Georgian artist, which depicts “Zezva and Mzia” taking a selfie. Which is inspired by the Dmanisi excavation.
The logo symbolizes a symbolic way of the development of science and innovation from the stone age. “Zezva and Mzia” taking a selfie reminds all of us, that science is a part of our daily, practical life.
