The First Deputy Minister, Koka Seperteladze and the Director of the National Curriculum and Assessment Center, Natia Jokhadze held a briefing about the new competition, launched at public schools. The goal of the competition is to create additional textbooks for schoolchildren, as well as for the interested society on the theme: From Annexation to Occupation – The History of 200 Year War (Georgia-Russia). The textbook will be created according to the historical sources and scientific researches.
The objective evaluation and analyzing the history is very important in the current conditions of the development of Georgia. The future generation should know the objective, scientifically proved history of 200 year Georgian war against Russia for independence, territorial integrity and development in order to analyze the challenges of our country and make the right decisions in future public or professional activities.
Additional books, written in common language will be created to enhance the material, already existing in textbooks at the end of the project. Besides, the electronic version, reflecting the audio/video and graphic materials of the books will be presented.
Desired considering the subject standards of the National Curriculum and textbooks during the creation of supplementary books. According to the announcement of the ministry, all projects will be discussed and evaluated by specially created commission. The project, which will be financed in the scope of this competition, will be selected by this commission.
The author of the winner project will receive the prize of 10.000 GEL.
