For the development of the Agricultural Sciences and Biosystem Engineering Faculty the government has spent more than 12 million Georgian Lari. This sum was spent on infrastructure, in conjunction with updating and implementing the new necessary software.
The Technical University of Agricultural Sciences and Bio-System Engineering Faculty, which in-took first students in the year of 2014-2015, has a brand new, modern, equipped with the latest technology building, where the students will continue their studies. The Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava opened the building today.
The new building was opened within the scope of “Science and Innovation Festival 2016”, in conjunction with holding one of the most important events of the festival “Agricultural Science Day”. The event comprised of agricultural science conferences, public lectures, presentations and training sessions. The festival which is being held for the five consecutive days, offered various events to the scientists, interested parties, students and pupils. The Science and Innovation Festival 2016, will close on September 25.
As for the new Agro institution, it is equipped with the latest laboratories and modern equipment, which is one of the kind in Georgia. There are premises for the scientific research and is available for the students of the university, as well as for the young scientists.
The Technical University of Agricultural Sciences and Bio-Systems Engineering Faculty incorporates eight programs: breeding, agronomy, soil and water resource engineering, agricultural business management, food technology, forestry, agricultural technologies and agro-engineering. Seven programs out of eight are fully government funded.
