Starting from October 3 up to October 16, a registration process for more than 150 vocational education programs is commencing, at state educational institutions. The Minister of Education and Science got acquinted with the whole process at a Gldani vocational college.
For the first time, this year, three brand new programs are being introduced: (wine-making, cattle-breeding, fruit-glowering), which will include the work-based (dual) training format. Additionally, for the first time, the employers will be involved in the selection of students. Along with other dual program partners, there are Senaki, Akhaltsikhe, Kachreti and Tsinamdzgviantkari vocational colleges. According to the results of the examination/testing, the government is fully funding the vocational education.
State continues to care for vulnerable groups, which is why a support is provided to vulnerable refugee students for the transportation or renting their living space. Additionally, there is an updated technical material and resources, as well as fully adapting the premises for the SEN students. Furthermore, it is important that the vocational education is made available for non-Georgian speaking citizens. It is possible for them to undergo testing in Armenian, Azeri and Russian languages. Depending on the results, non-Georgian speaking citizens can get a full state funding for the courses of Georgian language, in which case, they will be able to continue their vocational education in Georgian language
Registration is possible in professional educational institutions, resource centers and information centers, only with the identity card. The choice of the applicant is unlimited, taking priorities into consideration.
Every one is eligible to register. For the individuals with disabilities or SEN students, there is an alternative enrollment procedure. The state funding may be only given to a Georgian citizen, and to an individual with a status of a refugee, who will overcome a minimum threshold in the testing process.
Owing to the organization of the National Assessment and Examination Center, there will be a pre-test available on the registration day on October 29, whilst on October 30, a unified proficiency test will be held.
