Organized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, and supported by the European Committee, a conference with the title “Changes in the higher education quality assurance system – the support of mechanisms oriented on the development and results”. During the conference several issues were discussed such as: the changes that are planned to be implemented in the higher education, the revised standards and procedure for the higher education institution authorization, the assessment methodology, challenges and opportunities.
International experts of the European Committee, the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the officials from the higher education institutions, as well as the guests from the international organizations and other Ministries participated in the conference.
The new standards of authorization for the higher education institutions was drafted in compliance with the rules and regulations of the European higher education quality assurance rules and guidelines, in conjunction with consulting with the international experts.
The newly revised authorization standards and procedures will support the development of the quality of education, with the emphasis on the results-oriented quality assurance system, student-oriented education, and the international recognition for the Georgian educational institutions. Additionally, it facilitates the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement to enter the membership into the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies (ENQA).
