A new school of modern standards is being built in Saburtalo district. The new building of the public school №61 will be put in operation from the next academic year. The deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Lia Gigauri, together with the majority MP – Levan Gogichaishvili inspected the construction process. Within the scope of the new education reform, the arrangement of schools with the modern infrastructure is one of the main priorities. Consequently, the construction, renovation and equipment of schools across Georgia is being executed uninterrupted.

The school is being constructed on a site of an old building on the V. Dolidze street, which was dismantled due to the safety issues. Almost a century-old school serves to a densely populated district, and the new school construction is one of the large-scale projects, which costs seven million GEL.

The new building of the public school №61 is in compliance of the modern standards, equipped with the central heating, indoor sports and performance halls, a library, and natural sciences class/cabinets. The school will be fully adapted to the needs of the needs of the SEN students, which implies the integration of rafts and elevators in all the entrances and hallways. Additionally, all lavatories will be fully adapted. Moreover, the school will feature a doctor’s cabinet, a canteen and will be fully equipped with the relevant inventory and appliances.

The new school contingent before the construction completes is placed on the premised of the Georgian Technical University, where all the conditions are met for the continuation of the educational process.
