Within the scope of the Ministry competence, the department of International Relations and Programs participates in the process of implementing international agreements and memoranda, coordinates their completion, and supports the integration process of Georgia into the European and Transatlantic organizations. Additionally, the department cooperates with international organizations and crafts reports and initiatives in order to fulfil the responsibilities bestowed by the international organizations.

Furthermore, the department encourages foreign nationals to continue their studies in Georgian higher educational institutions.

The International Relations and Programs Department consists of three divisions:

• International Relations Division;
• International Educational Programs Division;
• European Union Integration Division.
