Limited abilities are no longer a barrier in acquiring a profession. Four vocational colleges now offer adapted educational environment to people with limited abilities. 

In colleges “Mermisi” (Tbilisi), “Opizari” (Akhaltsikhe), “Akhali Talga” (Kobuleti) and “Aisi” (Kachrei) ramps, adapted toilet facilities were set for people in wheelchairs, as well as sensor paths, rails, marking of stairs and rails, contrasting areas, handles, doors – for blind people and people with impaired vision and other.   

The project of arranging the colleges according to universal design is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia together with the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway. The process is ongoing and other colleges will be adapted as well step-by-step.
