The Rectors Council was convened at Gori State University. The meeting was traditionally led by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava and participated by the heads of state and private higher education institutions being the members of the Rectors’ Council.

The issues related to attraction of foreign students, elaboration of higher education funding scheme, new principles of funding of faculties, educational programs quota, educational programs accreditation deadlines and other important topics were discussed at the meeting.

The Rectors Council meets several times during a year and discusses all the important issues concerning development of higher education, opinions are summerized and joint decisions are made. By the initiative of Aleksandre Jejelava, the Rectors Council is held at a particular higher education institution each time, enabling the members of the Council to get acquainted with the teaching environment of other universities, their teaching methods and to share experiences.
