The Millennium Challenge Account has announced a winner team of the Millennium Innovation Competition, which will travel to NASA in the United States and take part in the Educational Program of the Cosmic Center University. Independent Experts Commission has announced three best teams of senior pupils, who have presented projects in innovations, new technologies and natural sciences. Second and third place teams were awarded with prizes, and the first place team will travel to NASA in the United States in 2017 and take part in an educational program of the Cosmic Center University.

The Innovation Competition aims to encourage creation of innovations and new technologies by the young people. The Competition is conducted for the third consecutive year by the Millennium Challenge Account with the financial support of the US Embassy. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. One of the aims of the competition is to connect the winners with the successful scientists and private sectors for sharing of knowledge and experience. 85 teams of 67 schools took part in the competition in 2016 - 2017. 13 teams were selected in the final, 3 winning teams will be announced.

The Millennium Innovation Competition was held in Georgia twice, in 2014-15 and 2015-16 years and involved 153 teams from nine regions of Georgia. The winning teams of the previous competitions “Multi-Climatist” and “Solar” took part in the Conrad Foundation Innovation Summit in the US, at NASA’s Kennedy Center, Florida.
