Within the framework of the Project for Professional Development of Teachers and School Directors under the Millennium Challenge Account Georgia, LEPL National Center for Teacher Professional Development will offer a training course ‘’Active Tuition of Subjects’’ to more than 7000 teachers of all public schools countrywide. Currently, piloting of six modules in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Math, Geography and English language has completed. 132 trainers participated in the training.
The training course ‘’Active Teaching for Teachers’’ considers modelling of a real study environment where teachers will have an opportunity to test child-oriented teaching approaches, see their benefits and develop a plan how to integrate these approaches in the school practice.
Respectively, the knowledge and skills obtained at the training will help the teachers to make the study process funnier, more interactive and related to the practical life, requirements of the 21st century pupil and tailored to the needs and interests of children. Special attention will be allocated to research-based learning methods.
Subject training will be conducted in August and September of 2017 nationwide. It is planned to train the teachers of math, chemistry, physics, biology, geography and English language of VII-XII grades (more than 7000 teachers) who have already undertaken the general professional modules in 2016-2017.
The training considers participation of teachers form ethnic minorities. The training materials will be specially translated for them in Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani languages.
