Upper grade children visited I. Tsinamzgvrishvili Public College and participated in the Open Door Day event. They toured around the college and received information about the vocational education and current training programs. The event aimed to promote the vocational education, show its benefits and to emphasize that there is a real chance to get a job in various sectors with knowledge and skills obtained at the college.
Open Door Day was conducted in the week of registrations in vocational colleges (March 27-April 8).
The children were met and addressed by Ketevan Natriashvili, deputy minister of Education and Science and Micheal Ellenrieder, expert of EU Technical Assistance to VET and Employment Reforms in Georgia (EUVEGE).
Ilya Tsinamzgvrishvili Public College is the first vocational education institution in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, village Tsinamzgvraantkari. Fully rehabilitated college started functioning in 2016. Currently, the agricultural direction is carried out through three programs, including, via two work-based (dual) approaches. Agriculture is the main area for the college programs, however, in future, it is planned to develop tourism and engineering after which Ilya Tsinamzgvrishvili College will become a central and very important institution in the social-economic life of the region.
