By the Initiative of Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association (GPBA), Teimuraz Murgulia, the deputy minister of Education and Science of Georgia held a working meeting with Jose Borghino, head of International Publishers Association and Gvantsa Jobava, GPBA chair. The meeting topics included the new regulations for selecting the school textbooks and their distribution system, also the complaints and demands expressed by Georgian publishers.

 ‘’There were several important messages. It was mentioned that the form of cooperation that we are offering the publishers is not violating their rights. International Publishers Association believes that there are also some other models, but we think that there is a model for each development stage of the country which corresponds to the economic capability of the country most of all. We are in the process of consultations and we will do our best to maximally consider the public interest and offer the best solution to ensure quality books and budget contributions’’, declared Teimuraz Murgulia after the meeting.
