National Film Center starts a new season of project “Cinema at school”. Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia Mikheil Giorgadze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri and Director of National Film Center Zurab Maghalashvili held a press conference today to this effect.
“Cinema at school” is oriented on popularization of film education aiming to develop critical thinking and creative skills in adolescents. The project has been running for four years and each season it offers something new to its students. This year project “Cinema at school” will actively cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia “Free lessons” program which means that film shows and discussions will be held by both film specialists and school teachers.
Film specialists involved in project “Cinema at school” will coordinate and assist teachers in acquiring the relevant qualification to provide competent human resources in schools that will be able to continue the activity independently, form film clubs in schools and support cultural development of adolescents.
Project “Cinema at school” is implemented with support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Currently 217 schools and all regions of Georgia, including the villages located near the occupation line and mountain villages, are involved in the project.
