Vocational education teachers in the direction of construction and tourism were on study visit in Slovakia. The project “European Teacher” was initiated and organized by the Information Center on NATO and EU. The teachers were selected through competition.

Within the framework of the study tour, the teachers got acquainted with the structure of the vocational educational institutions, educational environment and resources. Workshops were held with the Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education of Slovakia. The teachers got acquainted with the peculiarities and difficulties of introduction of dual vocational education in Slovakia, also, the ways of solving the difficulties experienced by Slovakia.

Experience of Slovakia is especially important for Georgia, since introduction of dual vocational education started in the country in 2015. The partners of Slovakia in such introduction are Germany and Austria. As a post-socialist country, Slovakia has a similar experience; therefore the experience of Slovakia should be especially taken into account on the way of the European integration and for our vocational education.

Vocational education teachers had an opportunity to see the Slovak vocational education system with a different perspective. They met with teachers, students, heads of the institutions and education policy-maker institutions.

The ways of cooperation with the vocational education college of Bratislava were determined between the colleges “Ikarus” and “Aisi”, as well as the prospect of sharing experience between the Ministry of Education of Slovakia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Ketevan Natriashvili, Director of Information Center on NATO and EU - Nino Bolkvadze and State Minister - Viktor Dolidze handed over the certificates to teachers participating in the study tour.

It should be noted that the Ambassador of Georgia in Slovakia invited the teachers to the embassy and delivered a lecture on the topic - Visalibrilization and commitments of Georgia.
