“Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) – Georgia” implements the projects in the general, professional and higher education sector through the140 million USD grant (compact) assigned by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the US Government to Georgia. At this stage, 19 public schools have been rehabilitated and equipped with the laboratories (in total, 5336 pupils). Prior to termination of the compact, rehabilitation of up to 100 schools is planned throughout Georgia, which totals 37 thousand pupils. The investment for improvement of education infrastructure amounts to 55.8 million USD.
Three schools of Kareli Municipality (the public schools of Berbnisi, Sagolasheni and Kekhijvari) are among the fully rehabilitated schools. Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Education and Science - Aleksandre Jejelava, the Director of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) – Georgia - Jenner Edelman and Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) - Magda Magradze visited the schools of Berbnisi and Kekhijvari.
