The summer camp of pupils took start on June 21, 2017 and will continue until September, 2017. The first camps are hosted by Baxwood International School in Tskneti.
Up to 60 streams, in total 11 000 pupils will go to seven different locations (Anaklia, Manavi, Kachreti, Salibauri (Adjara), Batumi, Kutaisi, Tskneti) during the summer, through state funding. It should be noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is implementing the camps of similar types and scale for the first time.
The number of pupils in each stream is different according to the locations and in average varies from 130 up to 300 children.
7th, 8th and 9th grade pupils from various social categories, including the excellent pupils, small-scale school pupils, pupils living in the occupied territories, ethnic minorities, pupils using wheelchairs and others, will take part in the camps.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia together with the National Children and Youth Center of Georgia is involved in implementation of the Anaklia camp this year and the camp will be organized at the military base of Manavi and the Cadets Lyceum in Kutaisi, together with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and the National Children and Youth Center.
Implementation of the camp will facilitate social integration of pupils, popularize healthy lifestyles, promote integration of ethnic minorities living in Georgia, increase patriotic spirit, establish national and universal values, increase physical and spiritually healthy generation.
