A process of authorization of the private schools will begin soon. In this regard, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Georgian American High School “Vaziani+” and got familiar with the school, its infrastructure and learning process. Minister also met the 12th grade schoolchildren.

Process of Teacher certification is underway and is voluntary till 2014. In every July teachers are given opportunity to take a test in corresponding subject and a test in professional skills. Teachers, who successfully pass the tests, will get a surplus to the salary with the amount of 75 GEL.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia  Dimitri Shashkini visited several educational institutions in Kutaisi. First, the President paid a visit to Kutaisi Professional College and got familiar with the ongoing construction works of the learning centers in the yard of the college, he also got acquainted with the material technical equipments used in the learning process.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini participated in the seminar organized for the journalists by the National Examinations Center under the Ministry. The goal of this seminar was to inform the journalists on high school leaving exams.

500 resource officers planted cypress and cedars in Khudadovi Forest in the scope of the campaign “Plant a Tree, Make Tbilisi Green”. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini also took part in the campaign together with the Resource Officers.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini held a meeting with the staff of the Ministry and awarded the successful staff members with Medals of Honor. Medal of Honor was conferred to Chief Specialist of Public Relations Department, Natia Papava for a successful performance of her duties at work. She has been working for the Ministry for 25 years.
