The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili and
the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini opened
newly constructed school in the village of Gavazi, Kvareli Municipality.
Civil Activity Support Program is being implemented by MES in
cooperation with the British Organization Children’s High Level Group.
Nowadays, 45 public schools and 45 schools for the Children With Special
Needs are involved in the program.
Around 100 English language teachers who have arrived in Georgia in the
scope of the program Teach And Learn With Georgia, attended “Sighnaghoba” in
Sighnaghi.

MES
is announced as the reformer Ministry of the year. Deputy Minister of Education
and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze was awarded with the above prize at the
award ceremony Builder of 2010.
MES will purchase portable computers for all first graders of the Public
Schools in 2011. They will be provided with these computers free of
charge. Educational programs in Georgian, foreign language, mathematics
and logics as well as textbooks, literature and educational-cognitive
games will be uploaded in the computers.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini
introduced Teachers’ Professional Scheme to the teachers. The document
was developed by the experts of the National Center for Teacher
Professional Development. Director of the Center, Gia Mamulashvili
explained the meaning of the newly developed document to 300 teachers.
The Prime Minister of Georgia
Nika Gilauri proposed an initiative that the officials of public institutions
should report to the public on the ongoing activities and future plans.
Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini personally congratulated the Children With
Special Needs of Public School №200 on St. George’s Day and presented
them with different gifts.
Meeting was held between the Resource Officers of MES and
representatives of media. Around 20 journalists of TV, radio companies and
press took part in the two-day retreat in Kvareli tourist complex.
Integration in Georgian society is successfully held of the volunteer
English language teachers who have arrived in Georgia
in the scope of the program Teach And Learn With Georgia.
15th award ceremony of the graduates was held at Georgian
Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). 146 graduates received diplomas in 7
different specialties: Public Administration, Public Policy, Self Governance
and Local Governance, Media and Communication Management, Journalism and Media
Management, International Politics and International Law.
The booklet “Inclusive
Education – Auto Portraits of the Children With Special Needs” is the small
collection of notes, poetry and stories of the Children With Special Needs of the
Public School №198.
