Annual Conference of the International Education Center was held. The forum was attended by graduate students, current grant owners and winners of the competition for the 2017-2018 academic years of the center.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava opened the forum, congratulated the scholarship holders the winning of contest and talked about the priorities and perspectives of the "University Support Program".

Nino Chelidze, Director of International Education Center introduced to beneficiaries the current programs, selection criteria, initiatives and new “Small Grants Program of Graduates” of the Center. The mutual obligations of students, which are financed by Center or have current grants, the involvement of the center in the employment process, the bilateral communication strategy between the scholars and the center, were also discussed at working sessions.

Separate session was dedicated to the rectors of higher education institutions of Georgia who spoke about prospects of employment of scholarship holders within the framework of "University Support Program".

This year the International Education Center has selected the fourth generation of students who will be able to gain both Master's and PhD degree abroad within the framework of state funding and international scholarship partnership schemes. In 2017 International Education Center will give more than 200 students a chance to learn abroad. More than 100 students will be financed only by the state budget. Up to 20 students through Scholarship Program of France and Georgia State Agreement, 12 students by co-financing USA-Georgia Fulbright Program, and 80 students will participate in the Hungarian exchange program.

The International Center for Education has awarded 341 scholarships in 2014 - 17 years to obtain Master and PhD degrees for Georgian citizens abroad. Their part has already completed their studies, returned to the country and works in the appropriate field.
