The members of the Georgian team of pupils returned with medals from the 24th Informatics Olympiad of Central European Countries (CEOI), which was held in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.
It is pleasant that our pupils showed very high results at such high rating Olympiad in which the participating countries are not only from Europe but also worldwide, and they always have strong teams and hold the leader positions, these high results were shown by: Giorgi Kldiashvili (Demireli Private College, 11th grade) who showed the absolute result, collected 600 points from 600 possible points after two rounds and was awarded the gold medal, whereas Aleksandre Khokhiashvili and Vano Gamezardashvili (pupils of 11th grades of Komarov Physics - Mathematical School) won the silver medals.
With the financing of the Ministry, Georgian team of pupils has participated in this Olympiad for the third time this year and in the previous years, they took twice 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. This year, the results achieved in the previous years were improved, and Georgia has been ranked amongst the best three countries with this result, which is a great success.
The team was led by: Leader - Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Giorgi Mandaria and co-leader Professor Zaza Gamezardashvili.
