Today a new building of German International School Tbilisi and Kindergarten was opened. The school campus offers the place for 116 pupils of school and 60 children of kindergarten in 2017-2018 academic years.

The German International School Tbilisi was founded in 2010 by the initiative of German and Georgian parents. The Government of Georgia handed over the territory to the school union in 2014 for construction of the German educational institution. The construction was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The German International School Tbilisi is one of the 140 foreign German schools all over the world, funded by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It offers the school education to the schoolchildren of Georgia in German language, together with the German curriculum and the German certificate. The school is simultaneously integrated in the educational system of Georgia and has state authorization. It is open to children from both German-speaking countries as well as from Georgia and other countries.
