The 100^th anniversary of I.Javaskhishvili Tbilisi State University is among UNESCO events list. The decision was made at the 39^th general conference session in Paris with the support of friend countries. Since 1956 UNESCO is actively participating in celebration of historic data in its member countries that gives special meaning to those events.

A special government commission is established for planning and organizing activities dedicated to the 100^th jubilee throughout the country. The activities will begin in December 2017 and last for a year.
