The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia closely cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia and the INNOVE Foundation on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the two Governments. The goal of cooperation is to share the experience and practices in general education, whilst discussing innovation and challenges in fields of research, education and science.
Within the scope of the trilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Estonian Government and UNICEF, the National Curriculum Department, is actively involved in the implementation of the newly revised National Curriculum. The Estonian experts are vigorously involved in revising the National Curriculum and as a result, the revised curriculum will be approved for basic and secondary levels in the coming future.
Under the framework of the above-mentioned memorandum, various activities are being implemented that will facilitate the execution of the new National Curriculum. There are 15 general education institutions (pilot schools) involved in the process, which befriended five Estonian schools. Furthermore, there are numerous exchange visits planned in the coming days, from both parties, that generally aim to share the experience, and help teachers to receive knowledge and develop professionally.
At this stage, the representatives of five partner schools visited Georgia, and held joint working meetings with the principals and teachers of Georgian schools. The visitors will be able to visit all 15 pilot schools and receive all the necessary information regarding the Georgian education.
The aforementioned cooperation will continue in years of 2018-2019, and various activities will be planned in order to facilitate the implementation of the new National Curriculum.
