Georgia and Great Britain will cooperate closely in terms of education and science
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli while paying an official visit in France, held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Great Britain - Sam Gyimah, and discussed the prospects of future cooperation.
During the meeting, a special emphasis was put on higher and vocational education, in conjunction with discussing the development of exchange programs in the coming future. Georgian and British students and professors will have the opportunity to benefit from the international programs that will facilitate the strengthening of academic relations between the two countries.
The British counterpart has positively evaluated the projects implemented in Georgia in the vocational education over the past years, including the establishment of colleges on the university premises. According to him, such an approach will facilitate the promotion of vocational education on the one hand, and enhance quality of education on the other.
Furthermore, during
the meeting with Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the British colleague noted that there is
also a problem of popularization of vocational education, particularly amongst
the British students. The inclusion of employers plays a major positive role in
the process.
Towards the end of the meeting, the Ministers discussed all aspects of
education and implementation of joint projects in the fields of science.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli invited his British counterpart - Sam Gyimah to visit Georgia.
