The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the French Republic to Georgia - Pascal Menier, the Director of the French Institute in Georgia - Pier Clue, and the Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché - Eleanor Garnier.
The Minister thanked the Ambassador and the esteemed guests for their active support in developing the educational system and cultural relations of Georgia with France.
The meeting touched upon further steps regarding the "French-Georgian University Project".
On 26 May, within the scope of French Foreign Minister's visit to Georgia, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the French Republic on the implementation of the French-Georgian University Project. The project "French-Georgian University" is the institutional co-operation of two parties in regard to higher education and scientific research, which, in turn, envisages developing joint programs between French and Georgian universities and issuing French diplomas in Georgia.
At the meeting the sides discussed the ongoing processes in the general and vocational education system and discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation in this regard as well.
