Organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Lithuania, a theatre based in the city of Naisa, Lithuania, presented a theatrical performance - “The way to Paradise” to its viewers in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of founding the First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
The ceremonial event is being held within the scope of joint events held by the Georgian Embassy in Lithuania to commemorate the anniversary of the restoration of the statehood of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia and the Republic of Lithuania in 2018.
Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania – her excellency, Khatuna Salukvadze noted that "2018 is a rather notable year for the history of our countries, since Georgia and Lithuania currently celebrate the 100th year anniversary since the formation of their respective Democratic republics. In Addition, I would like to thank you Lithuania for their continuous support to integrate Georgia in the European and Euro-Atlantic organizations”. Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized the importance of friendship between the two countries, and their further bilateral strategic partnership.
The aforementioned Lithuanian theater will also conduct free performances in different regions of Georgia: on November 15, the play will be hosted by Zugdidi Shalva Dadiani State Drama Theater, November 16, Zestafoni Ushangi Chkheidze State Drama Theater, and on 20 November Telavi Vazha Pshavela State Drama Theater will finally host the Lithuanian guests.
The event is supported by the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the Parliament of Education, Science and Culture, Tbilisi City Hall, Zugdidi Municipality, Zestaponi Municipality, Telavi Municipality, and Sandro Akhmeteli Drama Theater.
