The Minister of Education,
Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Batiashvili informed journalists
about the construction of a student city in the vicinity of the high-level TSU
high school building.
During the press conference
held at the Ministry, the Minister stated that the work on the project will be
moved to an active phase and in the near future, more than 3000 young students
will have all the necessary conditions to live and conduct their studies in a
tranquil atmosphere.
To that end, the project
includes both common and individual rooms, central and common kitchens, recreational
and social spaces, libraries, sports halls, swimming pools and multi-profile
outdoor playgrounds. The campus will have a 24-hour security and cleaning
services.
According to the Minister,
the Tbilisi State University will allocate a place for building a student city,
in the vicinity of TSU Maghlivi premises. It should be noted that last year, the
Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia announced the interest
of pursuing several investors that interested to collaborate on the project.
Consequently, in order to unveil the winning company, proper legal procedures
will be held in 2019.
