With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, a group of modern Georgian writers visited Istanbul on April 19-24 within the framework of the project -"Live Books".
The poets of the Georgian diaspora including - Manana Chitishvili, Ela Gochiashvili, Tariel Kharkhelauri, Vasil Beselia, Tsira Barbakadze, and musician and writer Manana Menabde all attended the opening ceremony.
The head of the project – Ketevan Dumbadze, organized an event – “Nodar Babu Opems Day” for Georgian children living in Istanbul, and presented them with the special anniversaty Nodar Dumbadze book editions. The gifts were supported by the Ministry.
During a four day period, Georgian house “Galaktioni”, located in Istanbul hosted cognitive and educational interviews, discussion panels with the Georgian authors. . In addition to the meetings, Manana Menabde's concert "Dreams of Georgia" was held, which was admired by the audience. A group of writers met with Turkish translators and publishers in Istanbul to promote Georgian literature.
"Live Books" was hosted by the Georgian Diaspora and Istanbul-based writer Irakli Kakabadze.
