Deputy Minister of Education, Science,
Culture and Sport of Georgia - Irina Abuladze held an official meeting with the
Ambassador of the Republic of Italy - Antonio Enrico Bartoli in Batumi within
the framework of Batumi International Conference.
The meeting focused on the friendly
relations between the two countries and positively assessed the cooperation of
the general and higher education, as well as science.
According to Antonio Bartoli,, owing to the
initiative of Italian Embassy in Georgia, schools will implement an option to
start teaching Italian as a second foreign language from September 20 in
Tbilisi. The Embassy will provide all the necessary work, training and
workbooks in order to facilitate the process.
During the meeting it was noted that for
the first time this year, Georgian youth will pass the master's program at
various higher education institutions of Italy on the basis of cooperation with
the International Center of Education.
The sides agreed to deepen cooperation in
science, which implies several grants, scholarships and exchange programs.
Closer cooperation with culture will continue. With the
initiative of the Ambassador, it will be possible to use the museum space for
academic purposes, where schools will get involved and learn more about the
Italian culture.
