Within the framework of the Erasmus + program, the European Commission's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency for Higher Education Capacity Building announced the results of the 2019 competition.

As a result, with the participation of Georgia, 6 cooperation projects were funded, involving 17 Georgian higher education institutions (11 public and 6 private), 3 state organizations and 2 NGOs. Funded projects in the Georgian universities are as follows: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, I. Gogebashvili State University, Shota Rustaveli State University, Business and Technology University, Art University, Caucasus University (Batumi Branch), Technical University, Naval Academy, Javakheti University, Shota Meskhi University, State University, the National University (SEU), Bausch International, Peter Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy and Tbilisi State Medical University.

As for the state organizations, these include the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia; Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency and National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement; And NGOs - Education Development and Employment Center and Mariani.

The total budget of the funded projects is € 5,204,212.00 and will be implemented between November 2019 and January 2020.

Importantly, 3 of the funded projects are project coordinators from Georgia: TSU, ATSU, Bau International. Four higher education institutions: University of Business and Technology, Batumi Art University, SEU and Bau International) received Erasmus + grant funding for the first time. In terms of regional coverage, the winner organizations are Tbilisi, Telavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Batumi and Zugdidi.

Erasmus + program for higher education in the development of the scheme under the cooperation funded projects aim to support the partner countries and EU countries to enhance cooperation between the higher education system modernization, access to, in order to promote internationalization, as well as innovative educational programs and higher education quality improvement.
