A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the World Bank (WB) to enhance the quality of professional education teachers. The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister - Irina Abuladze and World Bank Georgia Representative, Education Coordinator - Nino Kutateladze.
According to the memorandum, within the framework of a project funded by the British Government's Good Governance Fund, a new system is planned, including strengthening the Vocational Teacher Corps, enhancing the quality of teaching / learning and introducing a differentiated teacher pay scheme.
According to Irina Abuladze, the direction of vocational education is a major priority of the reform and accordingly, the Ministry places great emphasis on the efficiency and quality improvement of vocational education management. According to her, the new project, is aimed at finding effective ways of improving the quality of education throughout Georgia.
Nino Kutateladze – “over the course of the project there will be an opportunity for Georgian experts, along with international experts to support the implementation of the project from all directions. In addition, we have a good platform to ensure maximum involvement of all stakeholders in the process.”
