On August 9, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Mikheil Batiashvili and President of Water Sports Federation - David Rurua held a press conference and spoke about the European Under-17 Water Polo Championship on August 11-18 in Tbilisi. Members of Georgian U-17 team and head coach of the team - Soso Maisuradze attended the press conference. Representatives of the European Water Polo Federation - Gianni Lonzi, Chairman of the Technical Committee - Marco Byrie, Executive Director of the Executive Committee, spoke about the importance of the European Championship with the Minister.
On August 11-18, Tbilisi Olympic Swimming Pool will host European Under-17 Water Polo Championship with the participation of 16 strongest European teams. Georgia's opponents Group B will be as follows: Montenegro, Slovakia and Romania. On August 11, Georgia will play its first match against Romania. The match will start at 19:00. At 20:30 the official opening ceremony of the European Championship will be conducted.
