The family of one of the representatives of Georgian emigration, Vakhtang Gambashidze, was closely connected with the first Georgian university. Her daughter, Medea Gambashidze, was the first student at the university, in 1918. Vakhtang Gambashidze himself volunteered to host free lectures at the Faculty of Hygiene. His wife, Wanda Gambashidze, also taught English at the university.
Nunu Mitskevichi, noted that it is important to keep such examples for young people, people who gave their greatest contribution to the development of the country. "For me, as a representative of the sixth generation of immigrant families, it is very emotional that Vakhtang Gambashidze was giving free lectures at Tbilisi State University and caring for the education of future generations" the deputy minister stated, and thanked the book publishers for gathering these unique materials.
The book "Vakhtang Gambashidze's Album" contains unique copies of photos and recordings documented between 1904-1946. They are accompanied by print versions, comments and index. The book also features some sketches, including Zigmunt Valishevsky's "Landscape of Beating" and Poirakov's "Portrait of Vakhtang Gambashidze."
