Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Tamar Kitiashvili attended a summary event of the regional tour guide short-term training course, where 63 graduates of four regions of Georgia were awarded with relevant certificates.

The project was implemented by the CTC with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Within the scope of the project, a short-term training program of the regional tourist guides was developed, which was introduced at the pilot stage at four vocational education institutions of Georgia. Within the project, two guides have also been set up for professional teachers and students, which will significantly help colleges / universities in the future to develop and implement similar courses.

The aim of the project was to equip students who want to be leaders, with the relevant competences of the modern trends of the vocation, as well as to thoroughly study the tourism opportunities of the region and to create and implement new tourism routes. The course and guidelines are designed to help locals improve their skills by providing a variety of tourism products blended with unique regional features.

In her speech, Deputy Minister thanked the Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC) and the US Agency for International Development, for their immense commitment to the project. Tamar Kitiashvili expressed her desire to become a part of formal education and for this purpose, the Ministry will encourage the introduction of the developed course in vocational education institutions, so that as many people as possible can develop their competences and properly represent their region to foreign visitors.
