In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation has announced a competition named after the First President of the Republic of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia. The competition aims to popularize Kartvelology and encourage foreign scientists working abroad to make significant achievements in Kartvelology.
The prize will be awarded in the field of Kartvelology, which includes Humanities Studies in Georgia: Languages / Linguistics, Literature, History, Archeology, Ethnography / Ethnology, Cultural Studies, and Art.
Zviad Gamsakhurdia Prize amounts to 8000 GEL. Competitors, as established by the competition, must be foreign citizens, who occupy position at academic or educational isnsitution, or hold a doctorate or equivalent degree, who are actively engaged in scientific activities in the relevant field.

The winner of the Zviad Gamsakhurdia Contest will be announced on March 31 – on the birthday of the first President of Georgia.
